Tails of Hope is continually looking for special ways in
which you and your family can get involved in helping
companion animals live longer, healthier lives. Below are
some ideas which we hope you will consider. These projects
may be especially fun and meaningful to do with your child
or children.
Postage
Stamps. Make your companion animal a Tails of
Hope mascot by donating stamps with your animal’s
picture on them. Visit the web site of the United
States Postal Service by clicking
here for a list of their licensed stamp vendors.
You can submit your favorite picture of your
companion animal, purchase whatever amount of stamps
you wish, and then send the stamps to us at the
address listed on the “Contact Us” page of
this web site. Tails of Hope will use the stamps to
send out letters, thank you notes and other
correspondence, and your companion animal will
instantly be a Tails of Hope mascot. A great and fun
project for kids and for anyone else who wants their
companion animal to be famous!
- Birthday Parties and Other Special Events. If
your child has an upcoming birthday party or other
special event, and a companion animal has been an
important part of their lives, consider having your child
ask for donations to be made to Tails of Hope as part of
his or her celebration. One of Tails of Hope’s first
supporters was a little boy named Gabriel, whose dog
Columbus had cancer. Gabe decided that for his 5th
birthday, he wanted his friends and family to donate
money to Tails of Hope to help “sick doggies” instead of
giving him birthday presents. Gabe raised an incredible
$296 for our organization, and, according to his mom, it
was one of the best things they ever did with Gabe. For
more information on Gabe’s story, please see the
“Featured
Stories” page of this web site
- Our “Blanketed With Love™” Campaign. Tails of
Hope is collecting blankets to be used at veterinary
hospitals to keep companion animals warm after they have
received treatment for cancer or other life-threatening
illnesses, and to be used by owners to keep their
companion animals warm while transporting them home after
such treatment. Please contact us if you would
like to become involved in this great project or have
blankets that might be appropriate for donation.
These are just some ideas for ways you can
participate. We welcome any and all suggestions and ideas
for getting involved, and believe that any contribution we
receive, no matter how small or large, is invaluable. Thank
you for your support!
